Let's help Green Book's together

I wish all of you a beautiful day and I turn to you with a great request for help.
I would like to take advantage of the numerous visitors to this site, all of you, food lovers, cooks and certainly people who love the family for good. Every week I come across dozens of offers for collaboration, product promotion, testing, commercial competitions for my readers, etc. And believe me that I'm trying to protect this blog with all my power and not to allow similar manipulations.

Now I would really like to ask you to pay a little attention and hope to support my friend's project. I will tell you a little about him, his nonprofit organization Green Book's, and I will also include an article that includes an interview with him, where you can read as much information as possible about what and why he does. Why help in Indonesia? What are the main reasons? What is the benefit to us? How about palm oil?

Five years ago, in Bali, I noticed an inconspicuous and modestly acting man, a surfer, a little loner and introvert, Peter Heindrich. After some time and a few conversations with him, I found out he was the last one to be modest. Peter, a friend called Korea, traveled around the world, studied several schools, learned almost ten languages fluent in speaking, except for the most common ones, such as Korean, Indonesian, Mandarin, ... He has plenty to offer from his intellect, but instead of going with his skin on the market and plunging into the world of business that would literally breathe in with his abilities, he chose to live a modest life and his time, intellect, money and abilities to save the nature he really loves. I also love nature, ocean, forests ... But one must sometimes take the flaps off to the eye to realize that they are really ticking our hours. That the highest part is also actively helping to stop the devastation of the planet and, ultimately, ourselves. When you travel to developing countries, if you do not spend time shutting off in a delectable complex of hotels, you realize that local people have a huge mess around them, they burn toxic waste in the garden and produce plastic waste in bulk because they know nothing about ecology and how to save the planet. Peter is trying to change this. They are trying to educate children and to raise awareness of how and why they are ecological, because they do not teach these children in schools or parents. I personally thank him for his work and contribute to the project. We are proud of you !!!

Next, you will read in detail everything you need to decide whether it makes sense to contribute to your work and help us all. It's only a few days left to finish the Green Book's Greenbooks collection, and believe me that your contribution and good idea will turn on and turn into a big gesture for our nature.

WHERE AND HOW TO CONTRIBUTE?

Green Book's decided to help my second great friend Petr Vančura with his Green project for Indonesia , you can also read about his steps.

INTERVIEW WITH PETER HINDRICH ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION GREEN-BOOKS.ORG
Petr Hindrich called the stray shoes twenty years ago and fifteen years later he exchanged them for his flip-flops and docked thanks to the love of the ocean in Bali. Among other things, it is here to motivate Indonesian children to protect the environment and read for joy. They believe that, through books and playful forms of education, they cultivate respect for nature.
This adventurer, a graduate of a number of schools on several continents, is not afraid to go to business, and when he met a few years ago with the local people of Indonesia and their relationship to nature, he decided to do something about it. We are interviewing Peter Hindrick about the environmental NGO green-books.org.

What led you to interest in the environment?
My eyes opened an internship at a nonprofit in Nicaragua, where we provided humanitarian assistance to slum people in a huge rubbish dump on the outskirts of the metropolis. All the families are looking for a living there by collecting recyclable material in toxic smoke between the heaps of smoldering rubbish.
I also noticed during the wandering world that material goods are transient, that from a certain degree of security, finance is not a decisive criterion for happiness. Happier people are not those surrounded by material, but those who are closely connected with nature who accept the fact that we are not a superior animal species that should strive to monopolize the planet. I tried to deal with this phenomenon, to find out what nature is giving us, and gradually become interested in environmentalism, and I thought I would dedicate my efforts, time and finance to its promotion. Fortunately, I did not stay alone, in 2013 I was approached by the surfing partners Tomáš Jirsa and Martin Pokorný and we founded the civic association green-books.org .

Why are your activities targeting Indonesia?
I want to point out that our vision is for all children with access to environmental information, not just those of Indonesia. However, we have chosen this diverse archipelago as a pilot because we have a backdrop, we communicate with the local language, and Indonesia has a unique natural richness - active volcanoes, rainforests, coral reefs, glaciers, minerals, areas with amazing biodiversity both in the sea and on land . Every day, we see how nature in Indonesia is confronted with a developing economy driven by a huge mass of people, specifically 250 million people without environmental awareness. A banal example for all - I've seen a thousand times as a child tossed a candy wrapper without causing annoyance to the viewers.

Why should Europe be interested in problems at the other end of the globe?
While the Western world people are slowly starting to realize their negative impact on the quality of the environment, millions of children are born in developing countries, which will only be discovered by the advances of our western civilization, such as plastic packaging, cars, chemical fertilizers, fast food, etc. The fact is that planet Earth does not have enough resources to feed all 7 billion inhabitants living according to our standards.

The planet's ecosystem is so closely linked that the destruction of this tropical paradise affects us all. Many of the ecological problems here are linked to the interests of multinational corporations from which we buy products in Europe. These corporations successfully lobbied for their benefit at the corrupt state administration. Its success is measured by the amount of GDP growth, not by the purity of rivers in the vicinity of surface mines. Unfortunately, we do not expect to address the ecological problems from above.

What environmental issues are there in Indonesia?
This country, spread over 14,000 islands, has the widest range of coral reefs. Still, 70% have been destroyed due to dynamite, cyanide or trawl fisheries. Developing Indonesia is also struggling with domestic and industrial waste. Only in Jakarta flowing through the Citarum, along the banks of which lives 9 million people, more than 2000 factories are discharged. Low-cost ecological standards also benefit multinational mining companies devastating the surrounding landscape. It is common for dangerous gold, for example, to escape dangerous mercury into the surrounding river basin. Besides, there is a black market with wild and often endangered species of animals.

According to the latest statistics, Indonesia has a primacy in deforestation, which is now twice as fast as in the Amazon. There are 840,000 hectares of rain forest annually, which means that every twenty days the area of the capital city of Prague is excavated. In this way, not only animal and plant species, but also the ecosystem, floods, fires and natives are lost in their natural livelihood. The Sumatran orangutan, tiger, elephant and other endemites are on the verge of extinction due to the worldwide demand for Indonesian pulp, wood and beef. However, recently, the most common reason for deforestation is the establishment of oil palm plantations. And we can influence this factor, because palm oil contains half of the products found in shelves of Czech supermarkets, in foods like biscuits, margarine, ice cream, chocolate and potato chips, but also in shampoo or soap. The problem is that the palm oil on the labels is masked by a broader plant sign. But by 2015, it should be explicitly mentioned in the EU packaging.

So these problems seem to be the consequences of our Western civilization?
Unfortunately yes. Paradoxically, from our point of view, "primitive" cultures behave most naturally to nature - food packed into leaves, horse riding, organic fertilizers, and organic food of local provenance. However, with the advent of television and under pressure from corporations looking for new outlets for their products, these cultures start to diverge from sustainable lifestyles.

From my own experience on the island of Sumba, where we have several projects, I can show that instead of going to the well, the neighbors will fold on the generator, the dish and the television. Television here has the authority that naive villagers are an easy target of advertising massages that alternate unhealthy food and pharmaceutical products, product placement, our obese lifestyle.

But every planet's inhabitant should have the right to a concrete house, a car, potato chips.
Yes it is a dilemma. That is why we do not want to ban in green-books.org, we just want to point out clear facts, show alternatives, open up children and adults to realize the value of nature, we want to attract them to love nature and protect it for future generations .

What exactly does green-books.org do?
We organize events to promote environmental awareness, publish information materials, adapt a documentary film dealing with palm oil production, but first of all find books that we then distribute to children's libraries and initiate the emergence of new community community libraries and environmental education centers. Books are primarily in Indonesian and their content is geared to nature and natural sciences. For novice readers we also provide syllabuses and, therefore, accept any books suitable for children and youth. But we are primarily concerned with promoting an environmentally intelligent world view, including games and other activities.
Since the price of a picture book exceeds a weekly salary, book culture in the Indonesian country de facto does not exist. We therefore support our readership and reading concepts for pleasure, reading as a hobby. Most children see the color book for the first time in their life. We believe that reading interest will enable children to make wise decisions in the future not only in relation to the environment, but also in civic engagement, gender equality, planned parenthood, poverty, nutrition, malaria,
It is great that the media are interested in the activities of our organization, volunteers and other non-profit organizations contact us, new projects are being launched. Unfortunately, it is not enough to fund our own pocket.

If I sent 500 crowns to your account, how much of this will be for PR, advertising, snacks and "repre" funds?
We have given the bold promise of the general public and, above all, ourselves that 100% of public financial donations will always go directly to finance eco-literacy projects. We will find other ways to cover our own operating costs. Coverage of all operating costs from flight tickets through site management to rental, office equipment, and advertising is solved by using funds from our own resources, from private donors and sponsors. We work for free, with enthusiasm, because we just want to!

How can the public get involved in your activities?
If you are not indifferent to the fate of the planet Earth, be environmentally friendly, recycle, observe where your purchased goods come from, do not use palm oil and products containing it, boycott the products of corporations that devastate our planet. And best when you become a supporter of green-books.org. Thus, books and knowledge about the environment will be able to reach more children. We welcome your help with fundraising, ideas, cooperation, volunteers, sponsors and financial donations. Visit our green-books.org website or send emails to info@green-books.org .

The Green Project for Indonesia Petra Vančura

Indonesia is a country full of unique natural wealth. More than 14,000 islands have active volcanoes, rainforests, coral reefs, minerals, and glaciers, areas with amazing biodiversity both below and above the surface. Every day, however, this diverse landscape is confronted with the requirements of the development economy. A huge mass of people with 250 million inhabitants of Indonesia without ecological awareness devastates this natural uniqueness. Thousands of children are born every day and will continue this trend.

Let's rescue this paradise together with the magic green bathrobe!

How did it begin?

Although Indonesia's land is far from us, the planet's ecosystem is so tied that the destruction of this tropical paradise affects us all. The country is devastating not only the inhabitants themselves, but also the activities of multinational corporations from which we buy products in Europe. As a result of these impacts, the problem that affects us all comes up every day.

When we met this country and its problems, we realized that we would like to change the situation. So, on our next trip to Indonesia, we are going to get our attention on ourselves to warn of these problems. We will be traveling in an unusual traveler's office with a magical green bathrobe.

We would like to receive funding from the HIT HIT portal for the Green-books.org organization working in the region of Indonesia to raise funds for the purchase of local children's books, which will further increase the awareness of ecology.

Who we are?
Petr Vančura - the father of the project
Petr is a bit exotic who successfully leads the Czech PR agency. She travels regularly to Indonesia, and she thinks she is almost her second home. The green dressing gown with the green-books.org logo likes to dress because she knows it's a good thing and she always likes to support her.

Petr Hindrich - founder of the nonprofit organization green-books.org
He has been living in Indonesia for many years, and he would like to change the trend that makes this country more and more devastated. He founded his own initiative a few years ago, a nonprofit organization green-books.org that deserves environmental awareness.

Civic association green-books.org
IČO: 023 893 55

It aims to ensure that all Indonesian children have access to books and environmental awareness. Publishes information materials, promotes an environmentally intelligent view of the world by organizing events, games, and other activities. Above all, however, he searches for books on nature, which he subsequently distributes to children's libraries, and initiates the emergence of new community community libraries and eco-centers.

What is our goal?

At present, green-books.org plans to open 12 new libraries and eco-centers in Indonesia. They will use games and other activities to spread ecological ideas, recall them with modern children's books about nature in Indonesian.

The cost of one project, that is 50 books, is 5,000 CZK. With your help, we will try to collect 80 thousand crowns (60 thousand less cost) to buy 1100 ecological books for Indonesian children. The more money we choose, the more projects we will be able to realize!

Traveling in a robe?

The path in the green dressing gown should point out that not only the Indonesians, but actually we are all responsible for the destruction of Indonesian nature.

Petr Vančura plans: "From the house to my accommodation on Bali, I graduate in a green dressing gown with a big green-books.org logo and embroidered names of those who will give us the proper support here at HIT HIT. I will be armed with multi-lingual flyers, with the help of which I will inform as many passengers as possible about the issues we are dealing with. I'll shoot as many selfies as possible with fellow travelers and share them on a special facebook page, with one idea - I want to talk about environmental issues in Indonesia and green-books.org everywhere! If we can not collect money for books, it does not matter, I will fly in a beautiful green dressing gown, am amused and let me know that green-books.org exists. And that is not much in itself! The power of the spirit is often more than the power of money. I want my way to be an inspiration to others. Join us for more. And if you have a bathrobe and sometimes at the turn of March and April time, fly with me: o) "
