Coconut dressing
17. June 2014
Although the name sounds exotic, to prepare this dressing, there is nothing complicated. It was created simply and simply three years ago in Indonesia where coconut oil, which is the main ingredient of this dressing, is found on every corner. I try all year round, and twice in summer and when traveling to warm landscapes, eat a lot of fresh vegetable salads. And because the desserts are a joy to experiment, their math is simple, and at the same time they are an essential ingredient of a truly delicious salad, so one day, this "exotic coconut" dressing was born.
It is suitable for a mixture of lettuce with tomatoes and cucumber. It will also play a good bit of avocado, honey or cantaloupe melon or, for example, strawberries or grapes. If I prepare a salad as a main course, I add roasted pumpkin or sunflower seeds, which not only increases the nutritional value but also enriches the pleasant hazelnut flavor.
If you have not incorporated coconut oil into your kitchen, basically in cosmetic equipment, it may convince you to read briefly about the superlatives. Specifically, in the kitchen, it is a great healthy substitute for other fats, because it does not contain cholesterol, it is easy to digest, it is also recommended in reducing diets, because the energy contained in the fat is released gradually and is therefore not saved unnecessarily. It supports the proper functioning of the metabolism and thyroid gland, contains antioxidants, lauric acid, which strongly affects viruses, bacteria and yeasts. This acid, also contained in breast milk, is probably the main superlative. In terms of frying, which I avoid as much as possible, it is very suitable because it is resistant to thermal damage. From a cosmetic point of view, it is also highly prized, and it is basically widely used on all parts of the body. It is used for massage, it promotes the fresh appearance of the skin, it moisturizes. It is also suitable for infants. It protects against free radicals and therefore aging. It is a great winter and summer balsam for cracked lips. Also like a hair wrap, but it's more in the cosmetic box.
This recipe came out in the March recipe book I'm preparing for Harper's Bazaar.
