Almond butter

Almond butter

I'm giving you a quick tutorial for making almond butter just because you might want a recipe for Baskets stuffed with dates and almond butter . It's a recipe I never managed to finish. I have a few of those in my drawer. :-)

Almond butter can be made from peeled almonds or peeled. Then the color of the butter will have a different color. It is possible to prepare the butter completely pure, so use only almonds and sunflower oil to dilute to make the material with your robot advise and have achieved the desired finesse. Each robot has different performance, otherwise long knives, etc ... I recommend Vitamix, Blendtec and / or kitchen processor Kitchen aid. These have been personally tested, but of course they can handle other high-quality devices. Back to the Recipe .. So I deliberately do not specify the amount of oil in relation to almonds.
Then you can also prepare the butter already slightly flavored. Then I would recommend a vanilla and perhaps some maple syrup.
Allow the oven to warm to 180 ° C. Put the nuts on the plate and bake them in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes to obtain a fuller hazelnut flavor. After cooling, mix into blender, vitamix or food processor, add the remaining ingredients and start mixing. After a while, turn off the mixer, scrape off the cream from the walls and then turn it on again. It depends on the power of the appliance. With those powerful you will have very smooth walnut butter in 5 minutes. When you leave the finished almond butter to stand, the almond component drops in a few days and only oil remains on the top. If you want thicker butter, take care of the oil slightly. (This is exactly what is happening with tahini, which is a sesame paste, which is essentially the same, only made from sesame seeds .Tahini you know from hummus recipes, baba ghanoush, tahini salad dressing, ...)
